About Us
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL is a Christian housing ministry that works both to eliminate poverty housing around the world and to make adequate housing a matter of conscience and action. Habitat welcomes to the table partners of all faiths, or no faith, who are willing to paick up a hammer to help improve the lives of families needing shelter.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Middletown builds or renovates houses in partnership with volunteer labor, tax-deductible donations of money and materials, businesses, community groups, and with the "sweat-equity" help of homeowner/partner families. Partner Families are selected by application and based on their need for housing, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat. Houses are sold at no profit, and are financed with affordable no-interest loans.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER MIDDLETOWN, was incorporated in 1994. A volunteer Board of Directors governs, and several committees work under their direction. New Committee members and voluntees are always needed.
